On the 12th of October 2011, at the behest of CENSA, KVGCE started its partnership with IBM by having the IBM Center of Excellence inaugurated in our department's laboratory. The lab was inaugurated by Mr. Lawrence Mohanraj, the Rergional Manager for IBM Academic Initiative. The occasion was presided over by Sri. P.Venkataramana Gowda. We also had Mr. Sachin R.S. from IBM as well as Dr. K.Chidananda Gowda, former vice-chancellor of Kuvempu University as chief guests.
Dr. Gowda shared his experiences with IBM computers and NASA from over three decades ago. By citing jocular examples he briefed us on the power of science and technology and its transition from then to now. Mr. P.Venkataramana Gowda, as always, inspired us with his thoughts and guidance. He has indeed been a strong support for us from the side of the management. Our honorable Principal, Dr. N.A.Jnanesh observed the co-incidence of the Silver jubilee year of KVGCE with the Centenary year of IBM. We at KVGCE, deem ourselves lucky to be a part of this historic bond. A bond we all look forward to.
Before I conclude, I wish to convey my heartfelt thanks to Madam. Tajunnisa N.M. and Prof. Rajesh.D.S. as well as the student ambassadors of IBM academic initiative at our institute for making the day a grand success. I also thank the college management for letting this day happen. I do this in my personal capacity and on behalf of the entire department.
